Video Star of David
What’s a David star?
Star of David (Hebrew. ּוֵן דָּוִד – Magin David, David’s Shield; In Yiddish it is pronounced mogenda) – an ancient symbol, an emblem in the form of a six-pointed star (hexagram) in which two identical equilateral triangles (one unfolded with the top upwards, the other – with the top downwards) are superimposed on each other, forming a structure of six identical angles attached to the sides of the correct hexagram.
There are different versions of the origin of the name of the symbol, from connecting it with the legend of the form of the shields of King David’s warriors to erecting it to the name of David Alroy’s pseudo-messiah or the Talmudic turn, designating the God of Israel. Another variant of it is known under the name “Seal of King Solomon”.
Since XIX century the Star of David is considered to be a Jewish symbol. The Star of David is depicted on the flag of the State of Israel and is one of its main symbols. Six-pointed stars are also found in the symbols of other states and towns.
“I made the first such ring to order. The customer was very satisfied. I then finalized the ring, added minor and texture to the sides. The end result was a very spectacular ring. I tried to put all the respect for the Jewish people into the ring when I made it.” – Smirnov Kirill.
Silver hexagram
Hexagram is an international symbol of very ancient origin. This sign is known in India as Anahata or Anahata Chakra and was used there, apparently long before it appeared in the Middle East and Europe [the source is not listed 1218 days]. Initially, the hexagram was not a specifically Jewish symbol and had no relation to Judaism.
